Michael: ”I started driving with Bill sometime towards the Summer/Autumn period of 2015 After failing to learn with a different instructor a year or so before. He was recommended to me by a friend who had previously passed her test with Bill and had told me that he was the best of the best. In short, Bill has been exactly that. He is everything that I wanted and was expecting from a driving instructor. Unlike previous instructors he has always been calm and understanding even in VERY stressful situations. He is committed to helping someone learn in whatever way it is that suits them, whether that is watching, listening or doing, and always provides opportunity to students to feedback into and direct their own learning alongside his idea of where they need improvement. Pardoning the pun, it is always a two way street with Bill. The more you can give by following through with appointments, doing research away from lessons and showing that you are responding to instructions, the more you get in return. He won't let you down when you need him. Unfortunately on a few occasions between when I started and when I passed on the 2/8/2016, i was struck by family emergencies and tragedies which meant that I had to cancel lessons at short notice and drop out for a few weeks at a time, but Bill committed to see me through to my driving test where other instructors may have found me a difficult and costly client. He is very good natured and makes driving a very enjoyable experience always thinking up rhymes and puns for useful bits of information, which ultimately help you to remember key aspects which I'll still be reciting when I drive now. I would and already have recommended him to anyone who is looking for a calm, knowledgable and trustworthy driving instructor. ”

Katy: ”The decision to learn to drive at the grand old age of 34 was the hardest but best I ever made. Having 2 small children, it seemed so silly not being able to drive. I longed to be able to jump in the car and pop to the shops, or to be able to drive the children to the swimming pool for a lesson, or to a friends party. We had got used to spending hours at bus stops, freezing cold, missing the start of a film at the cinema, or being late for events. Just a regular occurrence when using public transport. On calling First Class Driving , I was introduced to Bill. He took the time to call me before our first lesson to find out a little bit about me and really put me at ease with his friendly and relaxed manner. I was a very nervous learner, not really believing that I would ever pass my test, however, thanks to Bill’s patience and complete professionalism throughout my lessons with him, he gave me confidence in myself and made me believe in my ability to be a good driver. He never rushed me, pressured me and allowed me to take everything in my stride. During lessons we would regularly have a good chat about life and everything that was going on in the world, a wonderful distraction technique from the nervousness I felt each time I got in the car – and it’s something I cannot thank him enough for as without this relaxed and pleasant attitude from him, I don’t believe I would have ever succeeded in passing my test. Within 6 months of lessons with Bill, I felt ready to take my test which I’m pleased to say that I passed first time. Many thanks to Bill for all of his help and hard work getting me to test standard. I cannot recommend Bill highly enough as an instructor – and he really is a genuinely nice guy too! ”

Jordan Ginn: ”When I began my first driving lesson in September 2013, I had never had any experience of being in the driver's seat and steering a car was an entirely foreign concept. My hands shook and my breath was heavy imitating my state of nervousness and anxiety. The car swerved in the road and the engine shuddered at my lack of control. By June 2014, I was confidently cruising down the M25 as part of my Pass Plus course after having passed my manual driving test on my first attempt with two minor faults. The key to this staggering transformation was my driving instructor, Bill. He was everything an instructor should be: Welcoming, Respectful, Patient, Understanding, Knowledgeable, Enthusiastic and an Exemplar Ambassador for Road Safety. But, above all this, he was simply a really nice fella' who went above and beyond to make my transition from novice to a competent and safe driver as smooth as possible. So, from humble beginnings of driving around a car park just outside my house to the infamy of the M25, Bill has guided me all the way and I simply cannot recommend him enough. I know that learning is an everlasting process in all things and I look forward to many years of developing my skills and gaining experience in independent driving, in the confidence that I can do so in a safe and road-worthy manner, thanks to Bill. ”

Kevin Ginn: ”My son had never driven at all before his first lesson with Bill. But not much more than 6 months later, he has passed his test with flying colours and it is all due to Bill. He is a fantastic instructor, very patient and the great thing is, he explains why things are being done. If uou understand why you are doing something, you're already halfway there. My son will now go on and do his pass plus with Bill. I cannot praise Bill highly enough - thanks for everything”

Lisa Muller: ”I will be the first to say that teaching me to drive wasn't easy, but Bill was ever patient and supportive, he took my sometimes pessimistic attitude in his stride and continuously encouraged me to do well. He is a strong believer in road safety, which I believe is most important in someone who teaches others to drive. I would strongly recommend Bill to anyone looking for a patient and good natured driving instructor. ”

Peter Dumont: “I am really enjoying driving lessons with Bill! He does a great job and from what I can tell is a very constructive driving instructor. He has helped me progress further and further each week!”

Emily Shea: “Bill was a really good instructor. He was patient, never got angry and was always quite laid back. He was much better than any other instructors I have had and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending him to anyone!”

Kate Harrison: “Despite three previous instructors, it was Bill’s teaching that finally enabled me to pass my practical test! Always willing to answer and explain my questions, his positive and relaxed style helped ease my driving insecurities which made lessons enjoyable! Thank you Bill for all the dedication you have put into helping me achieve my licence.

Michelle Emma Parkin: “I recently had a really great and positive experience being instructed by Mr Bill England. The entire 30 hours of practical driving was both enjoyable and stimulating, Bill encouraged me and guided me to the confident driver i have become. Bill was always punctual and efficient and very passionate about helping me achieve and succeed in every task we set to take me up to test standard. He is a complete professional. I thoroughly enjoyed every experience bill and i had of driving, and i am thrilled to say i past my practical driving test first time. I would absolutely recommend Bill to any pupil, new or partly trained, and from my personal experience, will assure positive feedback from his instruction. Bill is a generally nice person, very patient and an inspiration to other driving instructors. I am truly grateful for my positive and pleasant experience in my developing to become the independent driver, I now am. I cant thank him enough.”
